5 Taxacrat Enemies of Pleasure want to ban Cigar Sales on Naval Bases where our soldiers put their lives on the line but can’t enjoy a cigar. Led by 2 “Dicks”, Durbin (D-Illinois) and Blumenthal (D-Conn.), and joined by Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), they wrote a letter expressing their view on the issue.
Here Cigar Dave’s Comments:
Cigars are the only vice that a deployed Soldier, Sailor, Marine, or Airman, can enjoy while deployed. Cigars are the social glue that hold units together. As an Army Aviator, after a particularly hairy mission, I would take my crew to a gazebo we had near the flight line and dug into my humidor for good smokes in order for my crew and I to debrief and decompress. It was an hour dedicated to relaxing and coming down from the flight. Others who had it worse in other places did the same thing. General Order 1A, which applies to all combat deployed military personnel, PROHIBITS consumption of alcoholic beverages. Thank God cigars are not prohibited.
