We conducted Cinco de Mayo Tequila Tasting Maneuvers with Sommelier Dave and Mixologist Ryan to get you ready to make delicious libations for the day.  Also for good measure we’ll make a Mint Julep for the Kentucky Derby.  Today we are doing a vertical tasting of Milagro Tequilas including Silver, Reposado, Anejo, Silver Select Barrel Reserve and Reposado Select Barrel Reserve.

Types of Tequilas

Blanco (white) or Plata (silver): white spirit, unaged or aged less than two months in stainless steel or neutral oak barrels

Joven (young) or Oro (gold): unaged Blanco that is colored and flavored with caramel

Reposado (rested): aged a minimum of two months, but less than a year in oak barrels

Añejo (aged): aged a minimum of one year, but less than three years in small oak barrels

Extra Añejo (extra aged): aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels
