Senate Majority Leader, and unabashed Enemy of Pleasure, Harry Reid announced that he will not seek re-election in 2016. Reid has served 5 terms in the Senate and led Senate Democrats since 2005.
My life’s work has been to make Nevada and our nation better. Thank you for giving me that wonderful opportunity. https://t.co/dwy2rDWYhO

Reid suffered a New Year’s Day workout accident causing an eye injury and some broken bones. In the video he released he said it was “inappropriate” to use the Democratic Party’s resources in the 2016 elections if he were to run.
With Reid’s departure, Senators Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer will most likely battle for the leadership position. Republicans are pushing Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval to enter the race to try and take the seat.
